Yes, if you are living with HIV and undetectable, you are eligible to participate in this study.
Yes, your partner may participate if they meet the eligibility criteria.
You may refer up to two additional people to participate in the study, and potentially receive an additional $25 gift card (available while supplies last) for each referral.

Blood sample collection is self-administered. You can complete the self-collection process in a private, comfortable location of your choice. If you prefer, you can collect your blood sample on-site at Selma AIR.

To ensure your sample arrives at the lab during operating hours, please ship your samples Monday through Thursday only. This helps make sure it gets to the lab during operating hours. You should not ship your sample on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Before collecting your blood sample, please be sure to have a plan in place to have your sample picked up by FedEx, or dropped off at a FedEx location, within 24 hours.
This is critical to preserve the quality of the sample. A prepaid FedEx shipping label is provided in your kit for this purpose. If you complete the self-collection process on-site at Selma AIR, they will promptly ship the kit to the lab for you.

Your blood sample will be processed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) HIV Laboratory, who developed this method to help individuals who experience barriers to HIV care. This ensures that your sample is handled in accordance with the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and confidentiality. The CDC Laboratory will not be able to identify you or any person providing a blood sample.
Within six months of the TrueLevel HIV Feasibility Study end date, all blood samples will be destroyed.
No, you will not receive your results.
This study is focused on understanding how well self-administered viral load monitoring works, especially in rural areas.
Our goal is to see if this type of monitoring can help people living with HIV access care more easily, support their health, and reduce transmission of HIV. For this reason, results will be not shared.
After you ship your blood sample, we’ll send you a short follow-up survey. Once you complete the survey and your sample has been processed, you'll receive easy instructions to claim your $75 VISA Gift Card.
